Q: Which zodiacal stations do not rise as eastern ascendants for the epoch?

A: Aries, Libra, Gemini, Scorpius, Scutum, Sagittarius and Capricornus; to name some. If you have been said that you had Capricornus ascendant, it was probably Cetus or Pisces instead. If they classified you like Scorpius, it was peradventure Serpens or Ophiuchus.

Q: Where are the zodiacal stations and ascendants measured?

A: In the real sky.

Q: Are there more than 12 zodiacal stations?

A: That’s correct. There are 22 zodiacal stations in all[*].

Q: What, in short, is the reason why we have more than 13 zodiacal stations?

A: The planets don’t follow Sun that sweetly at all: there are divergences.

Q: Is Ophiuchus the 13th zodiacal station?

A: In popular imagination, yes. Ophiuchus can also be your natal ascendant. It happens that Ophiuchus may be your national ascendant as well.

Q: What about the practical dimensions of zodiacal stations and current ascendants?

A: Eridanus presently makes a considerably short ascendant. Hydra and Virgo are rather long in any way. Orion and Scorpius are short as zodiacal stations. Taurus is the shortest ascendant.

Q: What combination of zodiacal station for the Sun and ascendant is most likely?

A: Virgo, by a long shot. A great majority of planetary population is a Virgo Sun-sign along with a Virgo ascendant.
